The Anchor Seen as a National Model for Outdoor Activation, Programming
The Anchor spearheads one of the region's foremost community engagement initiatives: creating extensive opportunity for local families and youth.
In partnership with dozens of non-profit organizations,The Anchor brings thousands of youth from all Boston neighborhoods and surrounding communities to the Navy Yard. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment and exposing youth to new experiences, people and places that they otherwise may not have had.
Through the Glow and Give philanthropic program, The Anchor will host fundraising events with a percentage of proceeds donated to rotating charities.
Local non-profit organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, Easter Seals, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Youth to Youth Tutoring, and others are invited to the Navy Yard for a day of fun including walking tours, lawn games, and specialized educational activities.
Anthem's longstanding three-tier jobs program focuses on inner city youth, individuals in recovery, and people transitioning from homelessness back to the workforce.
In collaboration with local nonprofits and public agencies, The Anchor facilitates enjoyment of public spaces for people at all socioeconomic levels through its senior citizen and family meal vouchers: redeemable any time The Anchor is open.
The Anchor provides special offers, event planning assistance and resources for community based organizations, educational institutions and non-profits.
The Anchor features games, and more (including our outdoor piano!) for free public use. Free events are happening throughout the year.
